ADDICTIVE DRUGS ARE NOT PRODUCED IN LAOS,
SAYS UN OFFICIAL

(VNA) -- Shaiq Bin Raza, resident representative
of the UN Drug Control Programme has affirmed that it is groundless
to say that addictive drugs are produced in Laos.
Raza made the remark at a meeting held in
Vientiane on Tuesday to make public an annual report (2001) of
the International Committee for Drug Control.
The report said that the illegal poppy farms
had been sharply reduced as a result of the Government's efforts
to eradicate poppy cultivation.
