TUOLUMNE D.A. PROMISES TO DISMISS MYRON
MOWER CASE
For 36 tortuous hours Myron Mower and his
wife rode a roller coaster of
fear. A court order, delivered ominously on 9/11, was signed in
ink by Judge
Du Temple and until then, the D.A. had refused to indicate his
intentions.
The Mowers certainly had every reason to be fearful.
Fortunately, Professor Gerald Uelmen, who
represented Mr. Mower when he
appeared before the California State Supreme Court, spoke to John
Hansen,
the Deputy District Attorney for Tuolumne County and was told
that they will
move to dismiss on October 1st.
Mr. Mower doesn't even have to be present
in court on October 1st, although
he may want to go just to see final justice achieved in his case.
"While we are delighted with the outcome
of this case, a malignant hostility
towards sick people who rely upon cannabis as a medicine is still
endemic
throughout the entire criminal justice system. Indeed, the threat
of
excessive force now characterizes nearly every contact the medical
cannabis
community has with law enforcement and the courts," said
Steve Kubby,
spokesman for the American Medical Marijuana Association.
