U.S. DISTRICT COURT: Doctor sentenced

A doctor who helped a former Pittsburgh police officer sell illegal drugs at weight-loss clinics was sentenced yesterday to 4 years and 9 months in federal prison.

Dr. Roxanne Rick, 41, of Monongahela, conspired with former Officer Robert Stowman to distribute Percocet, Vicodin and Didrex from her weight-loss clinics on McNeilly Road in Brookline and Broad Street in Belle Vernon, Fayette County, in the late 1990s.

Stowman is serving 10 years in federal prison.
