Anthrax attacks 'may be CIA research gone
wrong'
A US scientist claims last autumn's deadly
anthrax attacks may have been the result of CIA research which
went disastrously wrong.
The call comes from Barbara Rosenberg, director
of the Federation of American Scientists' Chemical and Biological
Weapons Program.
She says the spy agency commissioned a study
four years ago on the likely impact of anthrax being sent through
the mail.
She told BBC's Newsnight the person commissioned
to carry out the study may have decided to use his knowledge for
his own ends - leading to the deaths of five people.
