SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - A 14-year-old
girl allegedly addicted to crack cocaine was charged with robbing
two banks and believed to be the youngest person accused of bank
robbery in San Bernardino County.
The teen, who was not identified because
of her age, was detained in December for allegedly assaulting
her mother. She was placed in the county's Juvenile Hall where
she awaits a court hearing for two counts of armed robbery.
"Nobody knows of anyone younger in their
years of enforcing the law," said Sheriff's Department spokesman
Chip Patterson. "This is unusual."
