More Wasteful Spending by the
White House and ONDCP- Super Expensive Anti-Drug Commercials to
Air During Superbowl (Jan 31, 2002) Alleging that buying illegal
drugs supports terrorists, the US Government completely misses
the point that prohibition keeps the criminals, and even some
terrorists, (including US prohibitionist drug warriors) in control
of the drug trade, making insane profits driven by prohibition
tariffs.
Progress in US Drug Fight?
(Jan. 31, 2002) "The U.S. report praises American advances
in estimating cannabis cultivation in the United States, destroying
drug laboratories and cooperating with other nations. But it also
said the United States has not done enough to stop trafficking
in ammunition and expressed concern that it hasn't ratified an
OAS firearms treaty pending in the Senate. U.S. firearms are seen
as contributing to drug violence in the hemisphere." For

US to Resume Peruvian Anti-Drug
Flights (Jan. 31, 2002) Despite the "accidental"
shootdown of a US missionary flight last year, the US insists
that shooting down civilian flights will cut down drug trafficking,
and is therefore resuming the shoot-down policy.
Dirty Tricks in Ohio's Drug War
(Jan. 31, 2002) Seems that certain politicos, working in conjuncture
with the evil Partnership for a Drug Free America, has been illegally
circumventing Ohio ballot initiative laws while trying to defeat
drug reformers' efforts at sanity and compassion.
Senate Confirms New ONDCP Deputy
Director (Jan. 30, 2002) ONDCP Director John P. Walters said,
"Dr. Barthwell understands the devastating impact drug abuse inflicts
on our communities and the necessity for a balanced drug policy
that is rooted in science. Her advocacy of effective drug treatment
for the disadvantaged and her innovative approach to leading-edge
prevention and care embody the President's philosophy of compassionate,
comprehensive drug policy."
FAIR- NYC Newspapers Smear Activists
Ahead of WEF Protests (Jan. 30, 2002) Is the NYC press setting
up the WEF protestors, portraying them as mindless terrorists
so the public won't overly object to what has become commonplace
police brutality at public protests?
US Gov: Illicit Drug Use Strains
US Economy (Jan. 30, 2002) It appears the ONDCP people haven't
read the Senate Report illustrating
how much money illicit drugs bring into US financial institutions
each year.
Drug Warriors are US Taliban (Jan.
30, 2002) Dogma beyond all reason links the Taliban and US Drug
Warriors.
DARE Failing Students in Michigan
(Jan. 30, 2002) Seems that DARE does little good in keeping kids
from experimenting with drugs.
Rep. Dan Burton Vows to Investigate
the FBI (Jan. 30, 2002) Rep. Dan Burton is one pissed off
and disappointed politician, now that he knows the FBI kept a
man they knew to be innocent locked in prison for 32 years.
Gov. Jeb Bush's Daughter Noelle Arrested
for Drugs in Florida Although she was caught redhanded, it
appears she won't do any jail time. (Jan. 30, 2002)
The FARC's Fifth Column (Jan.
29, 2002) here is a perfect example of the balloon effect, whereby
US prohibitionists squeeze one region, only to see drug production
surge elsewhere, often many elsewheres.

Can Shame End Thai Drug Use and Abuse?
(Jan. 29, 2002) A new Turn-In-Your-Neighbor/Druggies-Anonymously
program in Thailand is raking in the accused, threatening them
with social ostracizing and public humiliation unless they mend
their ways.
