Journey for Justice
Making the Walls Transparent
Kay Lee

Justice has been lost in the offices of elected
officials;
in the police stations, courtrooms and prisons of our nation.
The Journey seeks to be a part of the restoration.

*In any of my work, "Cops" refer to dirty
police officers, just as "guard" refers to dirty "Correctional" Officer.
I have the utmost respect for people who do these difficult jobs in
a professional manner.

Mr. Gary Brooks Waid
was responsible and respected before Federal Agents' 6:00am raid
on his home. Gary was pressured to plea bargain. He was sentenced
to 9 years with no drugs in evidence ... on nothing more than
the word of a friend made into a snitch by the threats of cops*
to involve his loved ones. It can and does happen to anyone!

Gary Waid upon arrival in F.D.O.C from the Texarkana
Texas Federal Prison. He had been a model prisoner for 5 years.
But the brutality he witnessed in FDOC shocked and outraged him.
He and his "Tales From Jails" are the inspiration for

Like Gary Waid, nearly
70% of our nation's 2 million inmates are nonviolent, prisoners
of the very political drug war.

The objectives for the Journey for Justice are
to encourage a show of solidarity to the state and federal governments,
to encourage patients all across the nation to take up the fight for
their medical freedom, to put a face on the pain that the current drug
war causes, to end mass incarceration, to make prisons places of healing,
and to encourage public debate and education regarding government policy
on these urgent issues.

Through the efforts of Dr. Wright, Jacki Rickert
was approved for the Compassionate IND program in December of 1990.
Her prescription was not honored, and the IND program was abruptly shut
down in 1992 after thousands of HIV/AIDS patients and their doctors
applied for the program.
